Today I got something really kick butt in the mail. A box filled with goodies for me and the kids. No, I don't have a secret admirer. Actually, if I did and they sent me fake nails, a cookie and a bar of soap, I would really be worried.
No, all is good. I actually signed up for randomness to be sent my way. I joined a new website called Influenster.com. Really cool little website. When you join, they have you fill out these surveys so they can learn more about you. Then they give you badges. The more badges you collect, the better your chances are of receiving what they call a VoxBox. VoxBoxes are little white boxes filled with awesome products you get to try out, review and KEEP! Best part... it's free!
Today, I recieved my first VoxBox. The boxes are usually themed. The theme for my first box? Mom. Of course. And it did NOT disappoint. I guess you could say, VoxBox Rocks. *waa-waa-waaaa*
The only catch (and it's not really much of a catch) is you have to share your opinions on it's contents.
So... with out further ado... my most recent vlog... on Influnester and Vox Box for Moms:
Now that you've seen and heard what it's all about, go and sign up. Get your freebie on!
I'll be back to post the individual reviews for each of the items later this week.
Until then,
*Namaste*

Not So Extreme Couponing
So have you jumped on this band wagon yet? If not, do you think you will? Ya, neither did I. Didn't seem worth it. 50c off here. 25c off there. $1 off... if the item is a billion dollars to begin with. What's the point, right? Then that show aired... you know what show I mean. The show where these crazy women have rooms dedicated to shampoo, toothpaste and cereal? And other rooms for stock piles of things they will never use? And the HOURS they say they dedicate to it?!? 30+ ? INSANE!!!
Or so I thought.

Baby Pics. *poof* Gone! Crap.
The day I realized 98% of my son's baby pictures and my eldest daughters toddler years photos were gone for good, a little bit of me died. That same day, I swore I dedicate my children's precious images to paper and get (what I had left and would create in the future) off my computer.
And I have. Now I have a bushel of photos I need to put in photo albums. Needless to say, they are still in the packs they came in.

Earth Hour 2011
Last night my family and I took part in the 3rd annual Earth Hour. I had just learned of it on FaceBook and after doing a quick bit of research, decided it sounded like something we could do with the kids that was not only easy and green, but also free and fun. We were already planning a game night that night. Totally made sense. We even got Grandma to turn off her TV and join in on the fun. :0)

I Voted ... in my underwear.
I know. Big deal. Right? Yes, it IS a big deal! We are privileged to live in a land where we get a say and many times this is sadly over looked. Does that mean I vote every time? No. And that might be bad of me, however, I do have the right not to if I so chose. That too is something we should realize is a privilege. In some countries, you are forced to vote in the name of democracy (whatever) but there's only one name on the ballot.
But I digress... *quickly gets off the soap box before she is kicked off* The point is, I did it IN MY UNDERWEAR! I know. Not quite the vision you wanted, but still. That is the life. Voting in my own room... chillin'... with my coffee... in my underwear... watchin' my favorite morning news program. And it go me thinkin', if the public officials could pass the freakin' budget in their rooms... in their underwear... shit might get done! Or not. It was a thought. A gross one, now that I think about it more. Could you imagine CNN covering that? *shudder* Ya, OK. Never mind.
Anyway, to the point I wanted to make to begin with: When you vote, you get one of these!!!!

Some places give you freebies or discounts if you wear this on election day. I would comprise an awesome list of said goodies, but I'm tired now from voting and blogging (both in my underwear, of course) and now the baby is screaming AND both my other kids have homework they need help done. I did try to do a search to share with you, but honestly, all I found were from the presidential election back in 08 and several articles on how its illegal to give away freebies for voting. *shrug* I tried.
